We were excited to make our announcement earlier this week about Alteryx and Teradata partnering to better empower line of business analysts and decision makers because we believe firmly in the power of this combination.  The response from Teradata customers who have interest in using Alteryx with Teradata and Teradata Aster has been strong already, and we are looking forward to meeting more of them next week at Teradata PARTNERS Conference where we are delivering a talk Monday at 11:30 on Humanizing Big Data with Analytic Apps.

In a nutshell, Alteryx and Teradata are now working together to empower business and data analysts within the lines of business – those who do not need to know how to program in SQL or write MapReduce functions to:

  1. Data Integration and Enrichment:  Easily integrate data from a wide range of sources, enrich it with packaged market data that’s  included in Alteryx (such as Dun & Bradstreet, US Census, Experian household and segmentation and TomTom spatial data) and load it into Teradata (with our new high-speed bulk loader) or Teradata Aster
  2. Create Analytic Apps:  Rapidly design and publish analytic apps that integrate data from Teradata, Teradata Aster, and Hadoop; perform Predictive and/or Spatial Analytics on the combined data set; and can be run in the private cloud or public cloud (gallery.alteryx.com)
  3. Perform In-Database Analytics:  Easily invoke in-Database analytics in Teradata (TD-SQL) or Teradata Aster (SQL-MapReduce) for faster analytic processing – without having to know SQL or program MapReduce functions.

Line of business decision makers also benefit from the resulting enriched data and analytic apps – the apps are easy to consume via the new Alteryx Analytics Gallery (gallery.alteryx.com) or via the Alteryx Private Cloud Server. This new alliance includes new and deeper product integration between Alteryx Strategic Analytics and both Teradata’s flagship Enterprise Data Warehouse product and Teradata Aster for Big Data analytics  The new bulk loader in our update to Alteryx Strategic Analytics 8.0 was just the starting point of our product integration.   And with our support for Teradata Aster and HortonWorks, we can add to that list now the ability to perform analytics with data from the newly announced Teradata Aster Big Analytics Appliance.   We look forward to talking to folks at Teradata PARTNERS next week about all of this and more as it relates to Strategic and Big Data Analytics and this new partnership.
