This is the first of an occasional series of round-up blogs from the world of data blending and analytics.

Here’s what caught my eye this week:

1. Ingersoll Rand do some incredible work with survey data, Alteryx, and Tableau:
Sean Otto and Michael Nealey joined Brian Dirking to discuss Ingersoll Rand’s approach to handling the data they get back from their customer surveys. You can see the webinar here but my favorite part of this was how involved Sean and Michael got with the Q&A. (Highlights here.) They are a great example of how passionate Alteryx users are.

2. Alteryx helps you deal with those WTF moments from your Finance VP:
Our good friend Tom Sturgeon shared his end-of-month love for Alteryx

3. A lot of Retailers want to do more with shopper insight analytics:
An infographic we put together prompted an article on CMSWire. As the article highlights — 73% of Retailers think insights about shoppers behavior and profile is important but only 16% of them see their organizations as having the expertise to address this. Sounds like they need an intuitive data blending and advanced analytics platform...

4. I missed a lot of great content at our Inspire 2014 conference:
My colleagues Margarita Wilshire, Chad Martin and Geoff Jones published their Tips & Tricks presentation based on their experience in helping Alteryx clients get up to speed. I learned a lot, and hopefully you will too.

5. Getting advanced analytics into the hands of more people got easier for Qlik users:
My colleague Brian Dirking launched our new Qlik Visual Analytics Kit, along with an update to our information page about how Qlik users can create analytical datasets using Alteryx and output them into Qlik.

Have a great weekend. We’ll be back on Monday to keep the world safe for software.
