Unbelievably exciting start to the 2011 Adventure Team Challenge at Rancho del Rio along the Colorado River north of Eagle. Alteryx is fielding 3 teams, and supporting an Alteryx customer team from Atlas Advertising as well. More than twenty Alteryx volunteers are also here to help make the adventure race safe and run smoothly, in a year when the rivers are at 100-year high levels.

After all travelers convened from far and near in Eagle at the Timberline Tours facility, lunch was served and a quick orientation on the proceedings of the next few hours was given, before all climbed back into vehicles and made it up to the camp at Rancho del Rio. After camp was set with tents in place and all supplies unpacked and organized, teams had a chance to test their cycling and one-off skills and gear on a short ride up a single track trail that was very rocky, cambered, and full of cactus. The ride delivered teams to the river, where they had to go down a steep incline with two ropes, right into the rafts, and then had to board the raft with all of their gear and the one-off cycling device used by each team's disabled athletes.

Tomorrow starts the actual race, so stay tuned for more photos tomorrow night showing action and what proves to be the intense emotions from this incredibly fun and challenging event. Go Teams Alteryx!
