Server Job monitoring

Hi All

I'm relatively new to the alteryx world but our organisation does use it quite extensively.

I was wondering what other people use to monitor jobs scheduled on the server?

We could build into the workflow to email the log on failure i guess but wondered if there is a better way..

TIA

Nat

Hi @NatSnook,

Thank you for posting!

You could monitor your jobs via the Jobs page on the Gallery (https://help.alteryx.com/server/current/admin/Administration/Jobs.htm).

Another way would consist in configuring the workflows so they could send an email in case of failure: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Knowledge-Base/When-workflow-fails-send-an-email-notificati...

Note that this will not cover the rare -but unfortunately existing- case of corrupted workflows.

Best,

Thanks Paul

I was hoping for a more robust monitoring solution but i guess we can work with that for now.

As we have more and more workflows running on server it will be important for us to monitor failures closely.

I think for now the most useful will be to build in an 'email on failure' feature to each workflow. I had hoped that alteryx would be able to setup alerts when a schedule is created but it appears not.

cheers
