Hello Team,
We recently upgraded our Alteryx Server environment to version 2024.2 using the standard Server installer package.
After the upgrade, we noticed that the Alteryx Designer (on the Server machine) shows Patch 7 in the Help > About window.
However, we did not run a separate Designer installer for Patch 7.
We did not install a separate patch installer, so we would like to confirm the following:
1. Does the 2024.2 Server installer automatically include Designer Patch 7 as part of the upgrade?
2. Is it necessary (or recommended) to run the separate Patch 7 setup file after completing the Server upgrade or is that redundant?
Thanks in Advance!
Hi @PKN2025 ,
The installer will include the latest available patch at the time of download, so it is redundant in your case if your installer is the 2024.2.1.7.162 one.
Since patch 8 is available, you could install it if you want, but I suggest backing up your MongoDB first.
The portal will always have the Server installer with the latest patch already included, as well as the latest patch available for those that used another installer version.
Best,
Fernando
Hi Fernando,
Thanks for the reply.
Hi @fmvizcaino
Thanks for the reply.
We upgraded our Alteryx Server to 2024.2 using the installer AlteryxServerInstall_x64_2024.2.1.162.
After the upgrade, Alteryx Designer shows: Version: 2024.2.1.162 Patch: 7
Since our installer file name doesn’t include “7”, can you please confirm if we still need to run the Patch 7 installer (AlteryxServerPatchInstall_2024.2.1.7.162) or if it’s already included in our setup?
We’re also planning to upgrade to 2025.2, so just want to make sure the current version is fully up to date. Thanks
Hi @PKN2025 ,
It is already included in the version you installed. I undestood the confusion there, the number 2024.2.1.7.162 and patch 7 basically mean the same thing. The same for 2024.2.1.6.125 and Patch 6.
Best,
Fernando
