Hey gang,
One of our servers has been maxing out the CPU when heavy workflows are being run.
Is there any advice on how to prevent this from happening? Reduce the number of workflows that can be run simultaneously?

Hey @LordNeilLord,
What is the configuration of your server please (CPU/RAM/available disk space)?
The number of workflows allowed to run simultaneously (In System Settings, Worker, General) is indeed something to look at. Value should not exceed physical cores divided by 2. Also, memory usage as it could lead to an increase of CPU usage if exceeded.

Thanks @PaulN
I've asked for those details from IT, i'll post back when I get an answer.

Hi @PaulN
I've got the details for you!
4 Virtual Processors (2.3 ghz chip)
14GB Ram
8 simultaneous Workflows
1GB sort Join Memory.
Is that enough to go on?

Hi @LordNeilLord,
What process(es) use(s) CPU/memory when worklow runs? I just want to make sure that no third-party applications are involved.
Thanks,

Hi @LordNeilLord,
Is there any antivirus or similar applications that could participate to the CPU usage peak?
Thanks,

Hey @PaulN
There will be some azure stuff running but the server is on an internal network so nothing else should be on it except Alteryx
