If you do not install the python packages does alteryx designer execute python.exe when it is initiated. I see python.exe running in the details of task manager and wondering if it is necessary for Alteryx Designer.

Hi @DataRangler,

 

The python.exe should not automatically execute when Designer is opened, however, the Python dependencies are required in order to run several tools. We recommend installing the Python packages that are pre-built into the Designer installer for best experience. If you are running into issues with the Python dependencies or the Designer installer, please reach out to our Support team by emailing support@alteryx.com.
