replace parentheses with -

Hi all,

What is the best practice to remove the parentheses of a number and add the -

(40,000) to be -40,000

I feel like the answer relates to the regex replace but I'm new to this tool and appreciate your help.

How about replacing ( with - and ) with nothing?

Replace(Replace[field],"(",'-'),")",'')

All in one expression because I'm typing on my phone.
