proportionate sum

I have a drive time boundary and a block group file with demographics.  I am trying to create a workflow that will calculate the proportionate sum of the demos, can this be done?

Hi @ralptorr ,

yes, generally said, this can be done. Using the Trade Area tool you can create an areas using the drive time. This requires the spatial dataset (TomTom data). You can join your demographics data (what is the detail level? zip code?) to the trade areas using the Spatial Match tool and finally summarize.

To give a specific explanation, how to proceed, more detail would be needed. Hope this is helpful.

Best,

Roland

attached is a sample of what I am working with.  As you can see the summarize tool includes all the block groups in total and not the percentage of the population that the radius covers
