make a cofiguration file that contains the path of the input files

Hi all - there is a situation where i need to make a configuration file that contains the path of the input files and output files 
Sometimes the path should change when i take the input. 
i can do it by making an excel file and developing a macro in which i can input the path using the control parameters but how can i implement it on the server ?

@Fantastico I think you should define the file path in the UNC. The below post will give you an idea of different file paths in Alteryx
