Using .xls files with Sharepoint Connectors

I am using the Sharepoint connectors to connect to a database filed with .xls and .xlsx files.  I am able to import and use the .xlsx files but not the .xls files.  I have separated them with a filter tool.  What would be a efficient solution in the same workflow.  Thanks.

Is your problem that the SharePoint connector is not letting you import .xls files into Alteryx?

Thank you for the prompt response.  My lead is using a Generic tool with XML and a Python engine and it feels way over my head.  We are also not using the same working environment presently, so I have no idea where to put any of my relative or absolute paths.  When I get to working with the actually data and leave the inputs behind I will breathe a sigh of relief.
