Using SQL Server, doing a 2 table query, getting error

I have connected my Alteryx Designer to an available MS SQL Server db with multiple tables.

I have successfully run single table queries with a criteria, and with a criteria and aggregate (sum).

But when I involve a second table, I get errors, even for a simple select statement.

Can someone direct me to the right training resource to help me, or suggest a fix please?

Sorry, a bit more messing and I've answered my own question.

When I modify the query I was using, Alteryx remembers the datatype of the original column results for the modified query.
When I start a new process everything works fine, even for 2-table queries.

Traps for young players... 🙂
