Using Drop Down tool to manually input values in Rows (app + macro)

Hi all,

I am trying to replicate the below workflow

 https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Discussions/Add-Comment-to-each-row-with-an-Analyt...

But instead of using a text tool, I want to use a drop down tool to choose the values from for each row.

I was thinking of two ways but failed to do so:

1- Linking iterative macro and the app in order to loop on each row.

2- Run Another Analytics App (same one) until the row limit count is reached

Would appreciate any help in this!

Where would you like to choose the value from?0926-cycyg.png

Hi @Qiu,

Thank you for your prompt res
I want to remove the text tools and replace them with the drop down tool. But the issue is looping the drop down tool on each row. (It is easy for the text tool since we can write all values of the rows in one step)

Thank you for your reply.
I am sorry but what will be valve in the drop down list? Prefined? or connected some input data?

@Qiu

Predefined values to choose from.
My output will have 5 different drop down lists to fill 5 columns row wise.

I am really sorry but I am not sure I quite get you.

Anyhow, maybe something like this?

@Qiu

Thank you for trying.

Unfortunately, this only works for one row.

My goal is to use the app to loop through every row and choose a certain value from the drop down.

Thank you again for your support and reply.

I am sorry not getting the one you need.

Maybe you can provide a sample input and output so we can better understand the intention. 😁

@Qiu, below is a sample of what I want. The red one is input. The green ones will be what the client will input manually using the drop down. There is no logic for the green part, it is just the variables found in the drop down.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the information.
I am sorry but I dont think Alteryx is capable of performing what you need. 😅
Hope someone can provide some good ideas.
