Upload xlsx Files to FTP Site

Is there a way to upload xlsx files to a FTP Site?  I have been using the Download tool to download and upload csv files to and from FTP Sites, but the way I upload (place all data in the same field with \n separating rows and commas separating columns then convert to a blob) will not work with a xlsx file - the xlsx file is corrupted when I try to open it.  Any help with this would be appreciated.
