Special characters i username blocking R predictive tools from running

Hi gang,

I'm helping a colleague who can't run the R tools as he has a special character (æ) in his usersname (and therefore also temp paths etc). He has full read / write access so it is not because R or Alteryx can't reach the packages. 

Do we need to change the R settings somewhere to cater for this ? Any other ideas or clues?

Another user, also with special characters in the name, has the same issue here.
