Some thoughts on formatting PDF reports using XML

I'm looking to resemble a Microsoft Word template to output some PDF letters from an Excel file of customer data. I feel like using XML may help will resemble the formats.

 

I know that Report Text tool has an option to edit files in XML - PCXML. But I got no luck get it working. I discovered that if you change the .docx extension of a Microsoft Word document to .zip (zipped folder), you can extract the XML code from the document!

 

Can someone follow this path and see how to get the XML code extracted from Microsoft Word to work in Alteryx?
