Hi

I heard that for 24.2 you could share credentials with other users, can someone please help me, or share a link?

I can see you can share credentials on server but I was talking in designer

Hi there!

I have recently been rolling out shared DCMs to our users and I will share some tips.

1. Create the shared credentials from a service account. It is much better to manage access this was in the sense of "You push all shared connections from a single source down to the users".

2. Version 2025.1 fixes a bug (or several) regarding shared connections failing to authenticate. Best to upgrade to this version of possible.

3. As with any shared DCM, users likely will need the same ODBC dsn setup (depending on your data source and connection methid), so sharing a way to auto configure the ODBC for users are very handy. We have a pwoershell script that users can run which will setup all the User DSNs that are used by our shared DCMs.
