SharePoint Output Runs Indefinitely (No Records)

I am using Sharepoint tools version 2.4.1.  The Sharepoint Output tool runs indefinitely when no records are passed into it.  Expected behavior would be for it to stop and not create an output file.

Does anyone know if the latest version 2.5.0 fixes this?  Control Containers are a great workaround for this but wondering if there will be another solution within the tool.

Thank you.

Have you tried downgrading your SharePoint tool? 2.4.1 was problematic for me too, especially with connecting and load speeds.

@caltang no I did not try downgrading.  Interesting maybe I will give that a shot.  Or try the latest version (2.5) and see how that works.

@bertal34  did you get a solution for this?

@eastonce No, I continue to isolate the Sharepoint Output tool inside of a control container.

Gotcha. Its definitely a Sharepoint Output tool issue since i do not see the same behavior using other types of outputs. Im currently forcing the workflow to stop if there's an error and the error triggers if there's no records. However, the Sharepoint Output tool still tries to run even when i place it downstream using a block until done tool. Haven't tried testing by downgrading the Sharepoint Output tool since that wouldnt work with our server. Maybe it will get fixed in the future but I try to avoid using the Sharepoint Tools as much as possible.

Agreed, Sharepoint tools have been a nightmare at my company and I try to avoid them as well.

Like @bertal34 said, isolate your sharepoint output with a control container. That way it will not attempt to produce an output if there's none.

@Siya1988 @eastonce

Attached is my example I share with other users.
