Report Layout Question

Bren312

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me out with a question.  I'm trying to use the Layout reporting tool to place a chart next to a table (the table includes a header created using the Report Text tool).  I can sort of get it to work (result in Browse tool 37) but it looks pretty meh.

The result I'm hoping to achieve is in Container 41 (sorry for the sloppy screenshot).  Hopefully someone can give me some insight on what I'm missing here.  I'm currently running version 2019.2.  Thanks everyone!

Hi @Bren312 ,

I think you should reduce the number of layout tools you are using, as you don't need a layout tool after each reporting snippet. I have also went on and added the text tool after your table tool, as you are able to configure for a text to serve as the header of a report snippet (attach text to existing field)

The output then looked something like this

I used a layout tool to say how my graph and table with header should be placed next to each other. If I wanted to place them on top of each other, I could select a vertical orientation.

Hope that helps, you can find more about the reporting tools and how to use them from the interactive lessons

Top notch; thanks so much @AngelosPachis !  Nailed it on the first response.  I'm a notch above complete rubbish using the Reporting tools.  Thanks again and all the best!

No worries Bren ( @Bren312  ), happy that I was able to help.

Also don't say that, all it takes is some practice and you will get there. The interactive lessons is a great place to start and I highly recommend them.

Any questions, ask in the community and there are always people that can help you out or point you to extra resources.

All the best to you too.
