Python Tool sets length of all V_WString fields to 1073741823

Is there any way to change the size of V_WString fields that are output by the Python Tool? It seems that by default the size is set to 1073741823, which is problematic if you are trying to write this data to a database:

exit to an autofield and then continue with your workflow.
