Problems Installing Alteryx Designer Desktop

I recently got a new PC, but every time I try to install Alteryx it seems to fail. The first time I tried it, the connection was broken due to network issues so I think this might be what started causing these current problems.

Basically, the Alteryx install finishes, but every time I try to click Finish and try to Run Alteryx Designer I get the message:

There was an error while loading: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I found this page which provides details for how to fix it:

https://knowledge.alteryx.com/index/s/article/Object-reference-not-set-to-an-instance-of-an-object

But when I check my "C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming" folder for an Alteryx folder there is nothing there - there are other folders for other software, but nothing for Alteryx. Even when I try to reinstall it, there is still nothing in the Roaming folder...

Does anyone know a way to fix this? Thank you!

Hi @dmc141

If you haven't already try downloading a new copy of the install file and trying again using that. I'd say if the problem still persists you may be better raising a support ticket via https://my.alteryx.com/

Thanks for the reply - unfortunately I have tried installing it a few times already and it didn't work. I might try and raise a support ticket later today if that's the case. Is it possible some leftover Alteryx files exist in another file location which need to be removed first before I do a fresh install? I check the C:\Users\{users}\AppData\Local\Temp\ folder too and it seems to appear there halfway through the installation process, but then disappears after that

Hi @dmc141

Did you try downloading a new install file entirely?

It's possible something is leftover, support would be the next logical step! Good luck!
