Parse error (?)

Hi

I am getting an error when running an app. When I go to correct in the workflow there is no error? I a m a bit confused but the only thing that I can think of that might be causing this is the dynamic rename tool, which is taking the first line as the names, as the names only seem to update when actually run. Any ideas? thanks

Hey @BillyL14

If the Dynamic Rename Tool is updating based off the first line of data, you are correct in your assumption. The error is being thrown because it cannot find the field [Tx].

You would need to reconfigure that part of the workflow to Filter based on an always available field.

Thanks!

Phil

Hi @BillyL14 — Suggest you to attach you workflow and desired output, both.

Hi @BillyL14,

Couldn't you just move the filter tool and place it before the rename tool?

I think that would be the simplest approach.

Good luck!

hi @Maskell_Rascal @Emil_Kos

I took out out the dynamic rename tool altogether and am using the same name that Alteryx auto populates but am getting the same error.  Again workflow working fine but app giving error, apologies, can't upload workflow as info in confidential and will take a while to mock up data

Hi @BillyL14,

Can you check if the basic filter for this column will work?

Do you see F22 column from drop-down?

Hello @BillyL14

I believe you may be overwriting in your app the field [TX] instead of the values which are included in the IN statement.
