How to select date using Date tool

I have attached workflow below.

I have 2 variable From and To want to update data in from and to variable

I tried below workflow but i was struggling to update data 

Any help please?

One question to you,

I have a big workflow as in below screenshot container in red that is small part for dynamic date selection,

I want that date selected from user should move forward in workflow as i want to output that date at the end of workflow.

What i am doing now is first running workflow as analytic app and doing date selection and then normal run for complete workflow execution and that date is not getting passed to further tools.

Am i doing anything wrong.
