How do I handle Multiple Header Rows in an input file

Petersenk

Good Morning,

I am trying to load a .txt file that has two header rows and concatenate the header rows as they come in. I will be loading multiple files so I would like to make sure I can use the input function and load the files using one input tool.  I have attached a file with a subset of data from the file.  I could not find any topics on this when I searched the community.

Thanks,

KP

You will need to ingest the data and split the headers rows from the actual data using the Sample tool.

Once you have properly formatted the headers you can concatenate the header rows and use the Dynamic Rename tool to update the column names.

The attached example doesn't completely solve your issue but it should get you started.

In addition to @michael_treadwell's good suggestion, I assume you would probably have the same header info in each file. So to eliminate those, you could just filter where the ID column is not an integer. That will eliminate your extra header info.

This answer got me started in the right direction.  I was able to complete it with a little more effort.

Thanks,

Karl
