Error with joining fields

I'm getting an error saying "string fields can only be joined to other string fields" but both of the ones I am joining are string fields, so I am confused. Please help!

@carolineyeager,

 

I would be happy to be a second set of eyes on your data, but it is likely that one of the fields is defined as a number.  There are multiple ways to check this, one way is to look at the RESULTS window and toggle to the "Metadata" view.  Another way is to inspect the configuration to make sure of the type.  Here are some photos:
