Deactivate license after reinstalling windows

So I have Alteryx installed and activated in my current computer, and just did a clean windows install (on the same computer). When I reinstalled alteryx, it asked for activation again, it could not detect the previous license, so I could not deactiave it and by extension, activate on the fresh window installation. 

Is there any way I can deactivate the license like this. the Alteryx installation folder is still in my Windows.old folder for whatever it's worth.

I hope you already have tried activating with the same licence after reinstallation of windows and it failed. If not try activating once sometimes it works.
