Hey Everyone, Not sure if this has been answered before but I can not seem to find the this kind of question. I currently have a workflow built with an input that is has a bunch of columns and the data type is on there a Vstring, however I need them to be a number. I have updated my select tool to make all of these Columns to be a "Double" data type and it works when I hit run but if I am updating my input with the same type of file and information my select tool goes back to Vstring and doesnt stay at a double. Is there a way to keep the tool so it keeps changing my data type to a Double when I put a new input in?
(The Data is the exact same and all the headers are the exact same)

Hi @dwil1811
How are you updating your Input? I've tried every way of changing the file path in the Input tool, connecting to another input tool, deleting the input tool completely, etc and have never managed to have the configuration of the Select tool change.
BTW What version of Designer are you using?

@dwil1811 That is an annoying problem. Drop in a formula tool instead. Select update column, paste in your field name and change the datatype in the formula. Let me know how that works!
