Data Grouping

Dear All,

I hope all of you are in good health...

I've attached some sample data; what I want to do is group the data as shown in the yellow column, and then use the "Tile" tool with "Tile Method" are "Manual" to get the results I desire. Is there any other way to attain that result (such as the yellow column) other utilizing the "Tile" tool?

kindly need your advice from all of you..

The data grouping is independent of other data. And data groupings are not necessarily separated in the same way as in the example; they can be divided into 20, 30, 50, and so on. What is the purpose of grouping the data? because I want to randomly select data from each group to present as an example of the examination.

If you're trying to get the sequence numbers you could use a multi-row formula to create a new Sequence column:

if [Row-1:Sequence]=5 then 1 else [Row-1:Sequence]+1 endif

If you want the tile numbers as well you would need a second multi-row formula.

You could also try the Sample or Random % Sample tools to get a sample of records without assigning IDs.  Examples attached.
