Automatic Triggering of Workflow

Hi everyone,

My Client wants to automate workflow based on when a new file is updated in the folder. My question is how to trigger the workflow. I can schedule them if there is a fixed time when the file is dumped in the folder, however that isn't the case.

I went through the contents on the links you shared and all of it is pointing to triggering the workflows that are hosted in Alteryx Server/Gallery via Alteryx Gallery API which is feel definitely requires Alteryx Server license.

However, I want to evaluate if it feasible to trigger or schedule alteryx workflows via third party applications only by procuring the Alteryx Designer license and not the Alteryx server license to save cost.

Workflows can be executed by third party applications using command line API but this needs server license, hence not an option for me.
