Hi all, this question is directly to Alteryx developers,

Why the Alteryx Software does not get updated automatically ? I want my alteryx get updated automatically,

Large organizations with a sizeable Alteryx Developer userbase tend to package up the installer using command line options that can be found here: https://help.alteryx.com/product-activation-and-licensing/use-command-line-options 

This allows for seamless upgrades for users rather than the traditional download + manual install.

And organizations with Server want to make sure that their designer/server versions match. You don't want a newer version of Designer than your server version.

And for some tools (ie developer tools like R/Python) there can be paths/packages/version differences that you want to control the timing of the update for. If you wake up one morning and all of your R work crashes - that's bad
