Hello,
I am trying to connect Alteryx input with Hive data and for the same I have downloaded the ODBC driver and successfully tested connection over Alteryx. However post that as soon as I am clicking on connect tab workflow is going into NOT REPONDING mode.
Same error Screenshot I have attached here for reference. Let me know how I can fix this issue.
I have checked its empty too. For both tools [Alteryx and ODBC ] test connections are successful.
So when you test in your odbc 64 you create a log entry in your odbc logs - but when you go for connect in-db nothing happens in your odbc logs? You can confirm this? That's weird. What driver version are you using? Is it one which Alteryx says it supports? For Alteryx - which version are you on 2024.1? Can you downgrade to 2022.3?
Hello @adevnath from what I understand, you have this issue even before accessing the interface where you choose the Hive Connection, right? At the "connect button" before you even choose if it's a database, a file, a saved connection...?
Can you provide a few more screenshot of exactly what you encounter?
A common issue, which happens once you clicked on connect, choose database, Hive.... is that Alteryx open the Visual Query Builder, retrieving the list of all tables and that can take a long time. The solution is to wait for an answer and switch to the table list mode with the upper button. I don't know where this information is stored by the way.
@apathetichellThanks ^^ Sad part is that I don't have access to an Hive Db anymore (maybe in a few months)
I am using 2023.1 Alteryx version. I have attached the screenshots for ODBC and Alteryx showing successful connection set up. As I have earlier mentioned too post clicking CONNECT tab workflow going into not responding mode. I have attached the screenshot of ODBC version too.
As you have mentioned about version thing, can you elaborate more what do you mean. And how I can fix this issue.
In the ODBC connection settings do you have "Fast SQLPrepare" checked
It was not checked but I did now and tried same steps. ODBC and Alteryx connections test are successful but after clicking connect tab same way workflow going into not responding mode.
can you confirm that tracing is on in your odbc connection? can you share that screen? can you share any other odbc config screens? I am confused what you mean by "Alteryx connections test are successful" - Alteryx may be accepting the parameters you are providing - but if this was successful your connect in-db would be working. Can you confirm which driver you are using?

Where did you check it? In Alteryx or in your ODBC Admin driver settings?
yes from ODBC driver's setting section
Which driver are you using? Is it Simba?
