School’s out – or at least, socially distant learning is over (for now) – for many kids and young adults across the globe. With in-person summer camps and programs being canceled and more and more families turning to online learning programs, we want to further enable our academic community by opening our Alteryx for Good offerings to a younger audience. We are excited to build the next generation of data scientists through Alteryx for K-12, a new and long-term program open to elementary, middle school and high school students and educators.
This program invites kids and young adults to jumpstart their careers with access to online data science and analytics training, catered to a younger student audience. Additionally, K-12 educators can bring the program to life in their classrooms this fall as they plan their curriculum and adjust to new learning environments. With jobs in data science and analytics in such high demand, students will be able to gain fluency in a core set of skills that can follow them throughout their future academic endeavors.
The Alteryx for K-12 program grants a free one-year Alteryx Designer license, as well as many additional training resources, so that students and educators can get real, hands-on experience with a leading data science and analytics platform. This program will feature a few up-front lessons that will set the stage for students to begin their journey through our Learning Paths and to our Core Certification Exam. But don’t be intimidated – data science isn’t as scary as it seems! Tune into the first episode of our podcast mini-series for kids called “Data [in the] Sandbox” to hear more about why data science is important and relevant for kids and young adults.
We encourage you – as our vocal and active Community members – to share information about this program with your friends, family, and K-12 educators in your lives. Educators and those aged 16 and older can apply directly on our website. Students under the age of 16 will need a parent or legal guardian to register on their behalf, also on our website. Still have questions? Check out the Alteryx for K-12 FAQ.
