How do you make the Alteryx Project Edition experience even better? Jumpstart your analytic skills and productivity with the Alteryx Analytics Gallery!

Project Edition comes with over 150 tools, but you may end up using just a few of your favorite tools to blend, cleanse and analyze data for your immediate needs. But if you stop there you’ll miss out on the sheer variety of analytics possible using Alteryx.

To use the A/B Tools, search for “AB” in the Search Box, or click on the Predictive Tools category for a full list of predictive tools.

Don’t see the Predictive tool category in your copy of Alteryx Project Edition? Go to the R Installer download page, and click on the R Installer for Alteryx 8.6 button (click on the other button if you’re using Alteryx Project Edition 8.1). Then download the exe file and run it to install the predictive tools in minutes.

No licensing. No wait. No cost.

For instance, Project Edition includes a number of predictive (R language) drag-and-drop tools that you can build into your own analytic workflows. Some of the most useful of these are those related to A/B Testing. These are tools you would use to pilot a change - for instance a new menu, a promotion, or a new web layout - and see if you should implement that change broadly or on a permanent basis.

Not sure how to even get started with the A/B tools? That’s where the Alteryx Analytics Gallery can help. Check out the AB Test Analysis application in the Public Gallery. First run it using the built-in sample data to get quick idea of what the application can do. The sample results indicate that the promotion being considered does significantly increase traffic comparing stores where it was introduced versus similar stores that served as the control group (no new promotion). Read this Alteryx EngineWorks blog to get more details on how to use this particular off-the-shelf application and use it with your own test and control data.

But want to know what specific tools were used, and how the data would be processed in sequence? Click on the AB Test Analysis application and then click the download button to get access to the underlying analytic workflow.

You will need Alteryx installed to see the step-by-step workflow - download Project Edition if you don’t have it already installed. After you import the workflow into Alteryx you’ll even be able to see useful descriptions of what’s happening in each step in the analytic process. Embedded in the workflow are several A/B tools that help you understand how they could be used as part of an end-to-end analytic workflow. You can copy-and-paste them directly into your own flow or blank canvas to start experimenting with predictive analytics yourself.

Log into the Alteryx Analytics Gallery to browse through more than 60 different applications in the Public Gallery, including:

  • Twitter Tracker – start to access social media data on Twitter
  • 2010 Census Area Report - learn how to use interactive mapping to build powerful but extremely easy-to-use analytics.
