By the Tool Masters, and for the Tool Masters, this series was originally launched in 2017 and since then has served one function: to collectively elevate every user’s proficiency in Designer by detailing working examples of every tool’s best uses.
Tool Masters are Community members who know the breadth of Designer and are willing to pull every piece of knowledge they have out of the woodwork and lend that expertise to the rest of us.
What Are Tool Mastery Articles?
Tool Mastery articles walk through in-depth use cases with the goal of elevating users’ proficiency. They are created by experts from the Maveryx Community who know the tools inside and out.
Here are a few samples of some of our most popular articles, but you can view the full index here.
- Using the Tile Tool for “Group By” record ids, easier cross-tabbing, or binning/splitting of data
- Dynamically performing calculations on varying numbers of fields or extracting data with Cross-Tab
- Using Run Command for just about anything
What's New?
To ensure these articles remain a valuable resource to users, we rely on experts within the Community to suggest edits to the Tool Mastery articles. Anyone who has achieved the rank of Fireball or higher in the Community can suggest edits. A member of the Learning Team reviews each suggestion and implements it when appropriate. Keep these things in mind when suggesting edits:
- People who have reached the ‘Fireball’ rank in the Community can suggest edits. You’ll see your rank on your profile in addition to seeing the blue “Edit” button on the top-left side of a Tool Mastery article.
- Be sure to leave a “Revision note” at the bottom of the article so we can easily find your suggested edit.
- If your edit is accepted, you’ll be added as a contributor to the article and receive a shiny new badge.
