My first solution! When possible, I try to use the built in Alteryx tools to get my desired results. First, I split the columns using the comma delimiter. Then I used the Date/Time tool with the Custom setting to get the date and have the metadata as a date. The Data Cleansing tool is awesome for removing punctuation, so that came next. As a best practice, I try to not rename fields until the end of a workflow (prevents confusing joins and blows up unions), so I kept the Select tool until the end...and there you have it!
