Highlights June Banner.png

I hope that everyone in the US had a fantastic holiday weekend, and for those of you not in the US, I hope you had a fantastic regular weekend!  This is the June edition of Community Highlights, where you get a quick shot of all of the cool stuff that went on in the Alteryx Community over the last month or so. Let's dive right in!

In Case You Missed It

*Community news & announcements.

Summer Camp

The ADAPT program brought about some incredible content in the month of June with Alteryx Academy Summer Camp.  This series takes viewers through 20 sessions led by Alteryx Sales Engineers as well as our Alteryx ACEs.  The videos are now available to watch within the community and provide some excellent training for those just starting their journey as well as users that already have experience with the platform.  Check them out!

Using Data to Seek Racial Justice and Transparency | We Are Better Than This

The past month has been a very interesting time, not only in the US but worldwide.  The current state of civil unrest and political posturing can seem exhausting, even when it's not affecting you directly.  Our own Susan Currie Sivek (@SusanCS ) wrote a wonderful blog at the beginning of June that is well worth the time to read irrespective of current events. With everything that's happened recently, however, it is even more important to consider, so take a few minutes to read it.

@dstoecker also weighed in on and gave his own thoughtful point of view on the events that have recently occurred.  Though Alteryx is a company made up of many individuals, having a unified message like this from leadership means a lot, and he highlights some of the things we can do to help, as organizations and individuals. View his blog here.

Community Q&A

The community team has been gearing up for a big event in July, and the questions have been pouring in since June.  @dstoecker is going to be answering all of your burning questions during our community Q&A session, and there's still time to get your questions submitted before the live event on July 15th!  I'm really excited about this session (I better be since I'm moderating it) and can't wait to hear what Dean has to say about the future of analytics.  Post your question soon before you run out of time, especially since if you post your question and attend the event, you'll get an exclusive badge on your community profile that you won't be able to achieve any other way.

Never. Stop. Learning.

*Alteryx Academy. All the training resources you need.

Annotation 2020-07-08 083849.pngThe Alteryx Academy is excited to offer another new Learning Path this month: the Alteryx Analytics Hub Learning Path. Within this learning path, you’ll find content describing the newest Alteryx Platform and how to perform some key tasks during set up and use. Get a glimpse of our latest offering and add some know-how in the process!

We have also been working hard to bring more lessons into our localized Academies. The list of Interactive Lessons available continues to grow in our French, Portuguese, and Spanish Academies with the release of the Alteryx for Excel Users course in all three languages. Our Japanese Academy has has also added a course on Parsing Data!

Certification

Working on earning your Alteryx Designer Core Certification? Check out some of our top test tips:

  • Prepare - Watch the Core Certification Prep video and check out the Exam Prep Area for the Core Certification Prep Guide and Core Cert Practice Test.
  • Learn While Testing - The exam is part of the learning process. On your first attempt focus on learning instead of passing. Use your resources to look up answers you don’t already know. Plan on taking the exam more than once!
  • Read Carefully - Read each question carefully before answering. Pay close attention to tool configurations, screenshots, and data sets. The details matter! Read twice and solve once.
  • Use Your Resources - Search for answers using Community, Help Docs, and Google. Use One Tool Examples to test out tool configurations. Use the Text Input tool to build out scenarios in Designer.
  • Pace Yourself - Spend about 75 seconds on each 1 point question and 4 minutes on each 3 point practical application question. If you finish early go back and check your answers. Use the full 2 hours.

Looking to level up to Advanced Certification? Check out our six-part video prep series and Interactive Lessons on Spatial, Apps, Parsing, and Reporting!
