Our Alteryx Server (2022.1) is currently set up with the Built In authentication method. We are trying to update it to SAML Authentication. After putting in all the info in SAML IDP Configuration, we get the "Failed to start authentication service" error. I read in some of the Alteryx community posts that maybe MongoDB needs to be reinstalled, but others say that it didn't help either. Anyone who has updated from Built in to SAML with any success?

Usually, when changing the authentication method, you DO have to start your mongoDB from scratch. But since Built-in and SAML are both based on users email, you should be fine, as long as the users used the same email when registering with built-in.
The problem you are experiencing could be a network issue, meaning that your IdP is not able to reach the Alteryx Server machine or the other way around.
