Error using Publish to PowerBI Tool

Hi

I am getting the following error when using the publish to powerbi tool:

An Array can’t be at the top level

The 'How To' states

  • This is a bug with our JSON build tool please do not start with a number

I have ensured all my string fields are first and also inserted a record with all null values as first record to try and resolve this, but it's still not working.

Anyone came across this and solved it?

Cheers

Ok

So i have been able to diagnose this and figured out what was going on.

The tool does not use the sort order of the fields as they are fed in, but rather it re-organises Alphanumerically. If this error is coming up, then the likelyhood is that the first field it is selecting is a type number.

To solve, simply rename any one of you string fields such that it would appear first. i.e. prefix with A or if using numbers in your field name (like 2015 FX) then prefix with 01.

This will ensure your string field is selected first.

Yes, changing the fields which starts with numbers to alphabet solved it!

Thank you!
