Connecting multiple tables from SQL database using analytic app

Meteoroid

Hi,

I have my multiple SQL database like A1,A2,A3,A4 and A5.

Each DB has 10 tables all with same table names.( like T1,T2.....T10)

I have created a workflow where it perform actions from each DB.

I need to create an analytic app where input should be the data base name.

So each time i change the db name the functions should be performed.

Can anyone help me this.

Is there a reason why you want to do this as an app rather than as a macro? This seems more likely to be a first step in a longer workflow process which people may use regularly, rather than something you want to share with wider business users.

HI Ben,

The users are mostly people without much knowledge with alteryx.
Plus analytic app would give a good look and feel.

Can you share more detail about how the workflow is set up at present (images would be ideal).

Do the databases contain the same table names?

Also, is each SQL database a complete separate thing, or are you talking more about Schema.

I.e. Database > Schema > Table

Hi Ben,

yes the Db contains same table names.

So you will need a text input which allows the user to overwrite the database name in the connection string. Have you tried to implement this yet?

Hi BEn,

Please see the screenshot of my database ABC.

I have done calculations with the tables in ABC data base.

Now i have a new database RKJ.

I need to perform the same calculations. Just need to replace the DB name from ABC to RKJ.

Input are from multiple tables from same database.ABC.JPGRKJ.JPG
