record ID Tool issue

Hi All,

I encountered some issues when using the Record ID tool in my workflow. After dragging it into the workflow and clicking its icon, the Configuration page loads extremely slowly compared to other tools. Regardless of how I configure it, the output always reverts to the default RecordID. Setting the starting value or position also causes the tool to reset to its default output mode. And the version is  2025.2.1.24

It looks like there is one known defect: Designer 2025.2 Release Notes. Maybe it's affecting you?

Wasn't aware of that known issue.  Thanks for sharing @alexnajm

@FuyuEric in the meantime, if you don't want to go back a version to resolve...  You can always leverage the Multi-Row Formula Tool to create your own RecordID like this:

Expression:  IF IsNull([Row-1:RecordID]) THEN 1 ELSE [Row-1:RecordID] +1 ENDIF

Hope this helps, -Jay

Hi @jrlindem

Thanks for sharing the alternative solution! Would reinstalling Alteryx solve the issue?

@FuyuEric

I would think, an uninstall/reinstall is a good idea to try, but if it's a known issue like Alex noted, it may not resolve until Alteryx releases a patch update to that version.  There's always a risk in going to the latest version so soon after release.  Might be better to simply downgrade to 2025.1 until we get a little further into 2025.2.
