empty columns switch to double

Hi all,

 

Quick question, I create a workflow, but every time I change the input file all empty columns switch to double. 

 

Why? and is there a way to fix this issue?

I'm not overly familiar with this issue - but I believe you could add a dynamic select tool and dynamically change the numeric columns to whatever type you wish.
