Workflow not running in Gallery || Need help

Hi Folks,

Upon executing a workflow that has been published in the Gallery, an error notification appears (screenshot attached).

The SharePoint tool is the key of the workflow, Is this something we need to put on the server?

As for the access needed on ODBC and file servers, Is this something we need to setup on Server DCM?

How can we mitigate the issue?

Need help

Hi @RE5260

Yes, the SharePoint tool will also need to be installed on the Server which is your issue.

Do we need configure the SharePoint tool with the same SharePoint URL, client ID and secret key on the Server as configured on the User's designer?

No, the issue is that SharePoint Input 2.4.1 is not installed in the Server environment at all which is why you are seeing the message that it can't find the plugin. If they have set up the connection with DCM and synced the credentials then Server should be able to use these credentials to access the resource.

I have downloaded SharePoint Input 2.4.1 and installed on our Server. But I don't have DCM connection enabled in our Server. Do I need to setup anything?

Please guide.

You can find the help docs for the SharePoint tools here: https://help.alteryx.com/current/en/designer/data-sources/microsoft-sharepoint.html

And specifically the SharePoint Input tool here: https://help.alteryx.com/current/en/designer/tools/connectors/sharepoint-input-tool.html

As it relates to DCM, I am not sure what your Server admins have configured for Server configuration settings. You can find more information about DCM here and the associated settings: https://help.alteryx.com/current/en/designer/tools/dcm---designer.html

Hi BrandonB

I checked with user and he is still seeing the same error message. What will be the solution?

I followed the link - https://knowledge.alteryx.com/index/s/article/How-to-SharePoint-Workflows-in-Gallery-with-DCM

From Alteryx System settings, I can see DCM -> General -> It's already setup.

User has been updated his designer desktop as well. The workflow is running fine in Designer but in Gallery it's producing error.

@RE5260 What is the error now that you have installed the SharePoint Input tool on the Alteryx Server? If you are seeing the same error did you install the connector for all users on the Server machine? If you have a multi-node environment you will also need to consider all of the worker nodes and ensure that the connector is installed on them as well. If you still see the error that Alteryx could not find the plugin directory I would also make sure that the version of the SharePoint Input tool is the same installed in both the user's machine as well as the Server machine.

You can also open a support ticket at https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Support/bd-p/SupportPage if you need to engage with a support engineer, although I believe your error will be resolved once the connector is properly installed.

Hi BrandonB

Alteryx Server is installed in Single node. We don't have multi-node environment.

I have installed the SharePoint Input tool on the Alteryx Server by selecting only for this system, not for all users. The workflow is running fine in user's system but in Gallery it's failing.

I need to check that the version of the SharePoint Input tool is the same installed in both the user's machine as well as the Server machine.

I already logged a support case with Alteryx.
