UNC file path reverting to non unc file path

Hello,

Trying to put a flow with a macro on gallery. I have tried to use advanced options, all unc, save macro. Then I go to schedule, what I just converted to UNC is back to “J:\…” and my set up fails. I even reversed the backslashes. Would be grateful for any help.

Hey @_JAA_, when you say 'I have tried to use advanced options, all unc, save macro.', do you mean you are changing the advanced options of the macro? If so, you'll need to do that for the actual workflow that contains the macro instead, as that has the dependency, and Alteryx needs to know where to look for it. You'll of course need to make sure that the machine running your server has access to the network location where the macro is saved.

I have modified the advanced options to all UNC within the macro and then within the workflow I am actually trying to publish to gallery.

I believe it’s a path issue as when the error comes up, it references the filepath with the “J:/..”.

@_JAA_ when you go to change the filepath in the workflow dependencies, does it actually change to a UNC filepath when you hit 'All UNC'? Is the macro actually saved within a shared/network location? Or is it in that J: drive? Is that personal?

Hi @_JAA_  did you manage to sort this? I'm having the same problem. Its affecting multiple workflows and I update the workflow dependencies to UNC paths then it reverts itself back to the local shared drive path (S:\...)

@DataNath  it does not. Have yet to solve this issue.

@robwalks  Unfortunately, no. I need to get back to it and hope to solve it in this round.

I've solved my issue. It was a simple fix in the end....within Options --> User Settings --> Edit User Settings go to the macro tab and make sure the location where your macro(s) are saved is formatted as a UNC path. Example below:
