Space in empty column in table tool

Hi I have a dataset where I am placing a dummy column in between PY and CY but when putting it in the table tool the size of the column is very small

I want to create space between them like below

Output:

CY		PY
123		456
34		56
78		98

I have tried below steps already

1. Rename it with spaces

2. Changed the width to a percentage

3. Changed width to 3 inch

None of the above worked in the table tool
