I am trying to get demographic information such as population, median income, and average age for a custom defined "polygon" geographic area. Is there a way to generate this on Alteryx's platform?

Yes.

 

You will need to read up on the Spatial tool suite in Alteryx. It sounds like Poly Build is a good place to start for what you're asking.

Sorry to say @mceleavy but I have no idea how to find what you are recommending. I have a specific dashboard from my company and don't see anything you're talking about.
