Dear Team,
When I am using Render tool to create English word documents, I ran into a paragraph issue. The attached workflow and word document will show you the test results and my configuration in three scenarios, which are:
The results were wrong in all three cases. I’m not sure whether it is an Alteryx functional issue, and if it can be resolved.
In addition, I find it very strange that if I replace the English name to a Chinese name, the result of the first case is correct.
Thanks for your team’s continuous support and kindly help in advance!
Regards,
Eva
Hi M,
I have a solution which need to use Alteryx to create word file. When I use the render function to generate the word, the output will automatically remove one space, which cause the word is wrong (below is a screen shot). Originally, we thought it may be related to Chinese character, but after removing all Chinese character, the issue still there. And I try to use 3 different modes to output the result (using fixed text only, using fixed text+variables, put all text in one variable), but the error occurs for all the three mode.
Could you please help to test it a little bit and see if it is truly the function’s issue? And do you have suggestion how to work around this function issue?
Looking forward for your suggestions, thank you very much!
Regards,
Eva
Hi - when I ran your macro the word document it produced did not have the extra space. I'd also note that your using A4 as your paper size with a standard word document. Render can have "issues" with crowding where it drops characters. I'd recommend changing this to standard letter if you can and seeing if that helps.
Hi, I have updated the workflow for your connivence to get the final outputs, and two pictures which highlight the issue places are also attached.
In fact, I have found that if I add a space before "This" (from "This is the certificate that" to " This is the certificate that"), both 2&3 can get the correct result, but there will an extra space before paragraph forever, this can't be a solution completely.
Looking forward for your suggestion, thanks a lot!
Question - do you see this issue with .pdfs? Ie if you switch from a word document to a pdf does it fix it? Basically word formatting may be imprecise. This might just be part of the underlying word integration. It also could be system based - I didn't see the extra space when I ran your workflow. If you can swap to .pdf, you may get better results.
