Remove file type from file name

This formula enables you to parse out the file type, assuming it's a .txt, .xlsx, dot something.

 

left([FileName], length([FileName]) - FindString(ReverseString(trim([FileName])), '.')-1)
// this formula drops the file extension (in theory), dropping the final period and any text after (for example .txt) in the file path

Here's a pro tip for you....

 

FileGetFileName() - Just gets the filename (can be used with fullPath)

FileGetExt() - Gets the file Extension

FileGetDir() - Gets just the directory
