ODBC SQL Visual Query Builder - Extended SQL Fetch

Does anyone know why some tables show up in orange and others in blue?

Also, I'm struggling to run a query which was running before and now taking too much time and effectively won't run. 

I keep getting the SQL Extended Fetch Error and I'm not sure how to fix it! I'm currently trying to replace my inner joins with left joins and see if that helps but it stills seems like it doesn't want to run.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Can you run the queries within the database itself?  In the past when I've received errors, I take the same SQL and run in the database which will give me more specific info on errors so I know what to correct.
