Need help regarding syntax of REGEX REPLACE

Hi All,

 

I am trying to format 1 Year Ended value into 1Y using formula tool. Can someone please guide what formula i can write to get the desire output. 

 

I know REGX_REPLACE can work but no idea how to write it.

Thanks but i got the solution. 
this syntax worked REGEX_Replace([Period], " \Year Ended", "Y")
