Input data issue

Hi All,

I have a query around the input tool.

To date, I have been uploading excel spreadsheets to Alteryx. I have oftentimes made changes to the excel spreadsheet in excel, saved the file, and re-run the Alteryx workflow. I generally don't have any issues doing this and Alteryx recognises the changes to the document. 

Yesterday however, Alteryx appeared to not recognize my changes to the document. The schema was the same, however the numbers were different. When I did a save-as and changed the file name, Alteryx recognised the changes.

My question is: Do I have to change the name of the file every time I make changes to it? Why did Alteryx not recognise my changes until i changed the file name?

Any help on this would be useful.

This sounds like a caching issue that I have never seen Alteryx run into.

Can you try changing the file type being read in? Instead of .xlsx try .xls

@bwat2435, This is not normal behavior for the tool. You do not need to re-save as another name for Alteryx to read files. As ParadoxuM mentioned there may have been a caching issue. Restarting Alteryx may resolve that issue, but if it persists please reach out to our Support team to troubleshoot.
